Jack says: "I am drawn to moments — moments of thought, moments of state, moments of memory, and moments of place. In my work I like to create places where one can linger slightly longer. Embedded in my paintings are my own moments of life that happen during and between painting sessions. For me, painting is like taking an emotional snapshot, where the painting captures whatever was going on in my life at the time, whoever was in the studio with me, or whatever I was listening to. These snapshots are not necessarily captured in the painting’s subject matter, more so in how it was created. These embedded moments are only known to me, but I hope that by capturing that energy, my paintings give the viewer a place to go, a place to be, a place to impose their own moments and memories."

Jack is a self taught painter living in Brattleboro, VT. Originally from the Boston area, Jack began painting in 2021 after moving to Brattleboro and renting a studio downtown. He is inspired by the natural world, cozy interiors and memory and enjoys bold colors.
