Brattleboro-West Arts
Countdown to Studio Tour!
Press Release
Draft 5-6-09 D.Cox
Brattleboro-West Arts gets underway.
Artists and craftspeople in the West Brattleboro and Marlboro area have formed a group to improve their individual businesses. Under the name “Brattleboro-West Arts”, the group currently includes about 20 professional artists working in paint, fabric, ceramics, glass, wood, musical instruments and food. The group is open to including writers, musicians, and landscape and gardening artists.
Initial efforts focus on improving visibility and establishing a regional brand identity, improving business practices, and joint market development in the New England and New York regions.
A group show, highlighting the breadth and quality of work from the group, will be presented at the C.X. Silver Gallery 814 Western Avenue, West Brattleboro, during the month of June. An opening reception will be held Saturday, June 6 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. An open studio tour September 19 and 20 will give the pubic an opportunity to see the environments in which this art and fine craftsmanship is created.
Monthly meetings are being held providing group members opportunities to share information helpful to running a successful arts business in our area.
